Magnífico Application for
ARTISTS · EXHIBITORS · CURATORS

Individual artists, groups of artists, or organizations are encouraged to apply to exhibit at
516 Magnífico Artspace. Artists working in any media and from any geographic area are
welcome to apply. Proposals must be submitted to Magnífico's Visual Arts Committee,
who review applications on an ongoing basis. The committee may chose to select work
for group shows. The gallery is usually scheduled eight to 12 months in advance.

• Group exhibits organized by individuals or organizations other than Magnífico
• Solo exhibits
• Installation exhibits (space transformed, solo or group)

• Other opportunities such as special projects and exhibits at other locations
• Slide registry used by Magnífico for curating exhibits and for promotional
  purposes

  MAGNIFICO PROVIDES:

• Overall coordination of exhibits
  
• Curatorial guidance
  
• Local & national publicity (press releases, public service announcements, etc.)
  
• Invitation design, print, & mailing to Magnífico's mailing list (a minimum of 2000 names)
  
• Professional exhibit installation and design
  
• Exhibit labels on gallery walls
  
• Reception with simple refreshments
  
• Coordination of sales and processing of works sold. Magnífico retains 50%
  commission.
  
• Gallery staff during regular gallery hours and reception
  
• Educational programs accompanying each exhibit
  
• Insurance of the work while on the premises during dates specified in Exhibit Agreement

  EXHIBITOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow timeline provided by Magnífico in Exhibit Agreement
  
• Provide appropriate information by deadlines in Agreement (descriptive text, list of works, image reproductions)
  
• Transporting/shipping and insurance of work to and from gallery
  
• Present work framed and ready for hanging/installation upon delivery
  
• Assist with and attend artist reception
  
• Provide a minimum of one gallery talk for the public and provide information for
  educational programs

  Since proposals are reviewed on an ongoing basis, Magnífico may save proposals for the Committee to review them all at once. Therefore, Magnífico will send out responses within two to four months of receiving proposals.
